Meet me

Meet me

I'm Andrea!

My name is Andrea and I'm the face behind Memories on Film. I'm a small town Minnesota girl who fell in love with capturing emotions on video.

How it all began

I grew up following the queen of videography on instagram - Indy Blue. If you don't know who she is, search Indy Blue Bali on YouTube.

I graduated college with a bachelor of science in biology and chemistry. While I love science, it isn’t always easy. I worked full time in college and spent my free nights studying until 4 am. I felt like I was drowning in all aspects of my life and started losing interest in anything and everything. My sophomore year I decided to take a photography class for fun. For years I’d been watching Indy Blue and wanting to be her, to have her life and travel the world. I decided that in order to get there, I had to start somewhere. This is where my adventure began.

One of my goals for 2020 was to travel more and film it all. The first couple months were great... and then covid hit. I needed to find another way to get creative. I began editing a short film series during lockdown to keep myself occupied, naming each “Memories on Film”, followed by stories of the memories I made during that specific footage, and so my brand was born.

Why I love videography

I love love. I get emotional at every single wedding I film. I get to be apart of one of the most intimate days of people's lives and I feel like I get to know my couples on a more personal level. I truly love what I do and love being able to capture special moments for others to enjoy for the rest fo their life.

I’m a big sucker for anything emotional. I bought my first DSLR camera on a Black Friday sale with no clue how to use it. Two months later, my nephew was born and I captured the first few days of his life on film. My brother and his wife had no idea I was filming, and frankly, I had no idea what I was doing. After endless hours of YouTube videos and late nights, I surprised them with my first ever video. My heart felt heavy, but in the best way, as I watched them view my video. I watched them tear up as they relived one of the most precious days of their life. This is why I became a videographer. I want to be there to capture the greatest moments in life. I want to take all those emotions and make you feel them once again as you watch my videos. I want to not only capture that moment, but embrace it in every sense.

I’m the type of person who take pictures of every single sunset, no matter how many I see. I’ll stop and close my eyes on sunny days and just take it in. Even during the tough times, I chose to focus on the good. That’s what I want to do in my videos.

This is why I do what I do.
